It has happened several times in my life. I will start at a new company and not say anything at first.

I just am who I am.

Pretty soon a ripple goes through the office.

I start hearing people say that they are going to start going to the gym.

I have worked out on a consistent basis since I was fourteen years old and my body displays the effort well.

Then all of a sudden everyone is going on a diet.

I usually stay within 10 lbs of my ideal body weight because I hate feeling as if I have more on my frame than is needed.

Now it is happening with my writing.

When someone asks me what I do, I say I blog.

Pretty soon they have thought of a blog and a couple of my male friends have even wanted to write a novel.

I used to get kind of upset over everyone thinking that they were the next JK Rowlings. I got even more upset when I had to hear them go on and on about their books.

Now I just kind of sit back and listen with a serene smile on my face, wondering if they would have considered that possibility if they had never met me.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not conceited. Whatever I have has been a gift from God.

I think one of my gifts is that of good influence.

If someone is really good at something they don’t have to say a word. People will see it without words being spoken.

Good influence speaks much louder than words.
